Shadow Ukulele Under-Saddle Pickup with Endpin Jack Review

Shadow Ukulele Under-Saddle Pickup with Endpin Jack

I put this in the ukulele of a 12-year old and she's now convinced that I'm a magician.
If you already have a ukulele, this is much less expensive than upgrading to an electric one. Great amplified sound, even with so-so ukuleles, and it works with any nylon-like ukulele strings.
We've played this through the Roland Micro Cube Guitar Amplifier- Black and the Roland Mobile Cube: Battery-Powered Stereo Amplifier. Sounds great.
This is very easy to install, but the included instructions aren't great. All you need is a power drill and 1/8 inch and 1/2-inch drill bits. Search on-line for one of the crystal-clear installation videos out there. (Be very careful handling the thing during installation. The piezo-to-wire connection looks very fragile, but this should be no problem once you finish the installation.)
(Oh. You'll also some sandpaper to sand down the saddle. It took more sanding work, but i replaced the old saddle with a Graphtech Tusq Acoustic Saddle Uke PQ-9250-00.)

Shadow's SH-1110-UK is a complete pickup system to amplify your acoustic ukulele. The Shadow SH-1110 consists of a undersaddle pickup (50 mm x 2,3 mm x 1,8 mm) which installs invisibly under the saddle and fits all standard slots and guarantees, with correct installation, a balanced volume of your ukulele's strings. The pickups screwable, high-quality stereo-endpin connection (SH 012) has a 2.5 mm input jack for the pickup cable (length: 200 mm) and a 6.3 mm output jack for standard instrument cables. The SH 1110-UK does not require a battery. If you want to combine the SH 1110-UK with an external preamp, Shadow recommends the SH ACP-1. Shadow cable preamps will allow you to make your passive pickup active without a modification to your instrument.

Great instrument mic. for guitar, banjo, dobro or mandolin. good feedback rejection and good at isolating the instrument. Only drawback it mic. clip does not hold the mic well and I had to improvise to keep the mic. stable on the mic. stand. A replacement clip solves this issue.

Tascam CDGT2 Guitar Trainer Review

Tascam CDGT2 Guitar Trainer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wish they made things like this when I was a kid, I wouldn't have worn so many records out playing the same passages over and over and over. Eight bars..move the needle back...... It got slightly better with cassettes, but not much. This Tascam Guitar trainer is fantastic, I can slow down fast passages and not only be sure I'm getting the notes right, but I can pick up the little nuances that are so often tips to fingerings, hammer ons, pull offs, etc... And, it stays in the same key! Not only that, if you want to learn it in a different key, you can just set the Guitar trainer to play the song in whatever key you want. You don't have to learn it in one key and then transpose in your head.
