Behringer PMP3000 1,200-Watt 16-Channel Powered Mixer Review

Behringer PMP3000 1,200-Watt 16-Channel Powered Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this powered mixer to replace a defective one at our church. Our sanctuary can seat 900 people and so it is a fairly large auditorium. The mixer has more power than the previous powered mixer and many more features. I especially like the individual channel mute buttons so we can kill a mic without having to move the gain adjustments. The only thing I did not like about this mixer is there was no block working diagram available. So we had to construct one for ourselves. To a trained eye, by using a block schematic diagram, it is easier to know how to set up the mixer for different applications and to troubleshoot a problem.
The actual steady state power output is more like 200 watts (each of the two stereo outputs)for our 8 ohm speaker system but still is greater that the old powered mixer. That is a total of 400 watts as compared to the (at first glance) advertised 1200 watts. We do not have to use the maximum gain on any channel so the output is fine for our use. There is also a headset output that follows the actual powered signal which can give you a better idea of mixed signal that is sent to the speakers and to our DVD and CD recorders.
The people at Behringer were able to answer all my questions without any problems so tech support was great. We did have a little difficulty in figuring out how to use the FX special effects (reverb, etc) generator but once we did figure it out, using it was just as advertised. You can probably guess that the instruction manual is not extensively done. But with a limited budget for an emergency purchase of a powered mixer, we are thoroughly satisfied with the quality and price.
The price is exceptional and caused a few doubting comments about how could we get what we needed for such a small price. We have been using the unit for two months now with absolutely no problems.
My suggestion is that before you purchase this unit, download the instruction manual from the Behringer site. You will see the output connection is not a 1/4 jack. If that is what you have, you will have to buy an adapter or convert the present cable connection to the new type. The adapters or connectors are not very expensive (Neutrik NA4LJX Speakon To 1/4" Mono Jack Adapter)and cost under $11 including shipping. You can optionally by the Speakon connectors and convert the speaker cable to the new connector type.

If you need superior stereo sound for small club gigs, churches or speeches, but have to keep the outboard gear to a minimum, the 16-channel PMP3000 can deliver. This 1,200- Watt mixer has built-in mic preamps and an FX processor, as well as enough power to drive mains and monitors, thanks to dual onboard 600-Watt power amps.

Massive Mono or Stunning Stereo The PMP3000 gives you the choice of 2 x 600-Watt stereo, 2 x 600-Watt dual mono or 1,200-Watt bridged mono sound. Whether the center of attention happens to be a folk trio, a speech, or a synth-rock band with mind-boggling stereo patches, the PMP3000 can accommodate. This sonic versatility also makes it an excellent choice for churches, where vocals and stereo recordings often share face time.
Classic Control, State-of-the-Art Sound Leave the mic preamps at home, because the quality of sound that was once only available in the studio is ready to go wherever you do. Eight built-in, boutique-caliber mic preamps with switchable +48 V phantom power make it possible to use either dynamic or condenser mics with the PMP3000.
Built-in Digital Effects Processor The PMP3000 is also equipped with a 24-bit FX processor, giving you 100 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus and reverb. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. In case you're pulling double duty as sound engineer and performer, the FX processor features a footswitch jack for remote on/off.
Changing the Channels The PMP3000 gives you excellent flexibility to accommodate whatever a performance requires. Channels 1-8 are for mics, guitars and other mono instruments. Stereo channels 9-16 are ideal for keyboards. All mono channels have 3-band EQ, switchable Low Cut filter for eliminating infrasonics, and Clip LEDs to indicate when the input signal is too hot.
The Ins and Outs Use the CD/TAPE IN RCA inputs to feed in external stereo signals from CD players or tape decks. The VOICE CANCELLER switch eliminates the vocals from pre-recorded music for karaoke applications.
CD/TAPE RCA outputs send line-level signals from the mixer to a recording device. Left and right output 1/4" connectors are there in case you need to connect more power amps. Connect your monitor power amps or active monitor speakers to the MON SEND output.
A STANDBY switch mutes all mic channels during breaks, preventing the microphones from picking up noise or interference. You can leave all faders untouched while you play a CD via the CD/TAPE inputs.
The FBQ Feedback Detection system automatically shows you which frequencies are causing feedback. Just touch the FBQ button and watch the red LEDs on the 7-band graphic EQ pinpoint which frequencies to adjust for optimized sound, without the feedback.
Speaking of Optimized Output The PMP3000's POWER AMP switch toggles between three operating modes: MAIN, MON/MONO and BRIDGE (the power outputs of A and B on the back panel are added and provided at OUTPUT B). Dual mono mode allows you to use Output A for mono Mains and Output B for monitors. This clever functionality powers both your mains and monitors without the need for an additional power amp.

American Recorder PMIX-100 3-Source Personal Audio Mixer Review

American Recorder PMIX-100 3-Source Personal Audio Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been looking for a way to manage my 3 inputs (2 computers, 1 stereo) to go to one set of speakers and one set of headphones. Previously, I had to use 2 sets of headphones for the computers and required a amp/speaker set with 2 inputs. Switching between headset and speakers was awkward.
I wanted a small unit that could accept at least 3 stereo inputs and had at least 2 stereo outputs, one for the speakers and one for headphones.
Just got this pMix 100 today and have been listening to it this afternoon. There are a few issues, but overall I think I'm going to keep it as it seems to address my need.
PROS:
+ it accepts three 3.5mm (1/8in) headphone jack-style stereo inputs that can be mixed together if you want.
+ jacks are nice and tight so unlikely that the plugs will fall out.
+ sound seems good; I'm only using it for casual listening
+ size is pretty compact, can be easily tucked away on a desk
+ comes with a couple of male-male 3.5mm connector cables and an RCA-3.5mm male cable
+ knobs are damped and knobs seemed to fit tightly on my unitCONS:
- Most noticeable drawback is the loss of volume. I measured the sound of a source (i) run directly to the speakers and (ii) run through the unit. For a song that peaked at 93dB a few feet away in the direct source set up (i), the measurement when run through the unit (ii) was 83dB. This is a significant loss of 10dB attributable to the unit. I made sure that the knobs weren't moved between the comparisons. Despite this, I could still get plenty of volume out, so I came to terms with this.
- Occasional quite noticeable hum which I discovered was positional - that is, I got rid of it almost completely by moving the unit slightly or putting my hand over it. This indicates that it's lacking some shielding somewhere. Perhaps wrapping it in tinfoil would help? Some kind of makeshift Faraday cage? Anyway I just moved it 3 inches and it's fine for now.
- Blue lights are ridiculous (too bright and distracting!) and I will eliminate or cover them asap
- headphones do cut off speaker output so if you need 2 simultaneous outputs, this is probably not for you. It's fine for me.
In summary, it works OK and in the absence of another inexpensive unit that manages my sound output this is fine. I don't think I would run any quality-critical mixing through it but for a compact listening solution it's fine.
The only other option I could find were the 8-10 input mixers; however they are really designed for predominantly mono inputs (though they have a couple of stereo inputs) and would have required too many adapters for the multiple mini-plug inputs I have.
I'm pretty harsh with ratings so 3 stars is probably what other people might call 4 stars.
UPDATE 02 Nov 2009
The buzzing (RF interference of some sort) was particularly noticeable with my wireless Sennheiser headphones and I got annoyed moving this thing around. It seems that the solution is to wrap it in tin foil - stops the buzzing (by protecting unshielded components).
So if you can live with it wrapped in tin foil, there is virtually no line noise. The stupid blue lights and transparent case seem to have been more important than properly shielding the case or wiring.

Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Four-Channel USB Mixer Review

Alesis MultiMix 4 USB Four-Channel USB Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In general, I like it, but it has warts. The biggest issue, which was mentioned differently in other reviews was the hum & noise when you're monitoring a live recording through headphones. The weird thing is that this noise doesn't appear on the finished digital file. Since I'm not taking this into the field, I'll live with this odd behavior because the other features be the heck out of all of the other USB mixers in this price range (here's a hint: there aren't any, or at least their weren't any when I bought this). Before I got my cushy desk job, I moonlighted as an A2 so part of me wants to cringe at the noise in my headset; however, in an earlier life I worked with the old Hitachi HR100 1" VTRs, and they had the same problem except for about 100 times more money. I can live with this, and it gets a 3 only because of the monitoring issue...otherwise this little baby excellent.

Behringer 1622FX 16-Input 2/2 Bus Mixer with Effects and USB Review

Behringer 1622FX 16-Input 2/2 Bus Mixer with Effects and USB
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been looking for a mixer for my home studio. I use it to produce audio programming for a radio station.
I checked several others along with this. I heard good reviews on Mackie products. I have seen them in action and I believe they are quite good. However, after a comparison, the Behringer is of equal quality with more features for a lower price. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to mix several aux sources along with microphones.

The X1622USB features four XENYX-fueled mic inputs with channel Inserts, "one knob" compressors and 3-band British-style EQs with a sweepable, semi-parametric mid frequency band. The four stereo line-level channels offer enhanced fine-tuning via 4-band EQ, which is extremely handy for adjusting critical keyboard midrange frequencies. Aux 1 Sends are switchable (pre- or post-fader) and individual channels can be assigned to two subgroups for mixing flexibility.

XENYX USB Series Mixers XENYX USB Series mixers are designed to handle your live gigs, and they provide the state-of-the-art tools you need to make stunning, professional-quality recordings. Along with their built-in USB/audio interfaces, XENYX USB mixers come with all the recording and editing software you'll need to turn your computer system into a complete, high-performance home recording studio.
Sonically Superior Mic Preamps All XENYX mixers have one thing in common--great-sounding, high headroom XENYX mic preamps. These state-of-the-art mic pres represent a major step in the evolution of audio technology--and they can easily hold their own, even when compared to the most expensive stand-alone mic preamps. XENYX preamps offer a staggering 130 dB of dynamic range, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to well above 200 kHz. Armed with these outstanding mic preamps, XENYX mixers provide such transparent, crystal-clear performance you just might think someone upgraded your mics while you weren't looking.
Sublimely Musical British EQ The British consoles of the 1960s and '70s changed the sound of rock and roll--without them the British Invasion might not have happened. Those legendary mixing desks soon became the envy of engineers and producers all over the world. The channel EQ on our XENYX mixers is based on that very same circuitry, allowing you to imbue signals with incredible warmth and detailed musical character. Even when applied generously, these equalizers exhibit sweet forgiveness and superb audio quality.
One-Knob Compression Ask professional sound engineers what their favorite piece of external processing gear is and the majority response will be virtually unanimous--dynamic compression. What is compression? We're glad you asked. Compression essentially limits the dynamic range of a signal, lowering the level of loud sounds and turning up softer sounds, to achieve sonic balance. But applying compression is a delicate art that many novice, and even intermediate, sound techs have great difficulty mastering. Our "one-knob" compression is available on all mono channels and is easy to operate, even for entry-level users. With this one knob, you can easily dial in the perfect amount of compression for instruments and vocals, creating powerful mixes with punch and clarity. This is indeed a rare feature for products in this class--but standard on all XENYX USB mixers.
Effective FX All XENYX USB Series mixers (except the 1204USB) feature our new 24-bit dual engine FX processor, with 16 editable, studio-grade presets including reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter and multi-effects. Complete with a highly accurate input meter, these effects can be altered to your personal taste via the Parameter control. Time-based functions can be entered manually by pressing the Tap button in tempo with the music.
Recording Bliss There was a time when the recording process called for lots and lots of expensive gear, which meant the average musician had to buy time at a recording studio--and that time was pricey indeed. But modern technology has put personal recording well within the reach of virtually anyone with access to a computer. How do you get all that music flying around your brain into your computer? That's where XENYX USB mixers come in. Thanks to the built-in, bi-directional stereo USB audio interface, you can connect any of these mixers directly to your PC or Mac computer via a single USB cable. Now any signal source you connect to the mixer can be recorded directly to your hard drive.
Software Included Because you'll want to take full advantage of the XENYX USB Series mixers' recording and podcasting potential, Behringer has thrown in a massive software package that includes Audacity (the most popular open source audio editor), Podifier, Juice, Podnova and Golden Ear (a great selection of podcasting software). You're ready to go live on your PC or Mac computer right out of the box! You also get more than 100 virtual instruments and 50 FX plug-ins, turning your computer into a complete home-based or mobile recording studio from input to output.
energyXT2.5 Compact BEHRINGER Edition Included When you're ready to take your recording projects to the next level, XT Software's energyXT is just the trick. This amazing DAW (digital audio workstation) makes it easy to manipulate your audio and MIDI files, turning song ideas into stunning CD or Web-ready recordings. energyXT includes its own multi-FX processor, plus a built-in synthesizer/sampler and a drum machine, both of which can be accessed directly via an external controller (such as our UMA25S) or programmed in step-write mode.

I've wanted a mixer for a long time now, and I finally got this one. At first I wanted the next biggest one, the UB802, I think. When I was thinking about when it when it would come. When it did, I was almost unsure what it was when I saw the box! It's so tiny- I thought it would be much bigger (Guess I didn't look very hard at the product description!)
It's amazing the sound you can get with this and even a cheap pair of speakers and a microphone (I use a Behringer mic, also. Ultravoice.)
I'm quite happy with this and if you're looking for a mixer on a budget, this one will be amazing for a small home studio. However, if you want to make something bigger, you'll want to get one of the bigger models in this series (Behringer UB).
I'm thrilled!

The PRO MIXER DJX700 is a professional 5-channel DJ mixer with great features for club-worn veterans and starry-eyed newbies alike.

Five-Channel DJ Mixer The DJX700 features four dual input stereo channels, and 1 ULN microphone channel with "on air" switch. A dedicated effects loop is ideal for connection of external devices (sampler, reverb processor etc.), and the adjustable crossfader curve lets you adjust for all mixing styles.
Three-Band Kill EQ Dial it in with a three-band kill EQ (-32 dB) and precise level meters with peak hold function on each channel.
ULTRAGLIDE Faders The faders are the heart and soul of every mixer. With their 500,000 cycles life expectancy, Behringer's high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE faders outperform standard faders more than twenty-fold. VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology goes hand in hand with our faders--audio signal does not run directly through them; instead, the faders only provide a control voltage to the VCAs. The advantage: practically no audio noise caused by mechanical wear.
Built-In Digital Effects Your crowd will be astounded by the 47 breathtaking digital effect presets in 24-bit quality: delay, reverb, flanger, filter, panner, ultrabass, exciter, Vinylizer, voice changer and more. Your audience will be astounded, but they'll never have to know your secret.
Track-Matching Tools Matching tracks is an art in itself. It takes countless nights of practice before you can truly say you have it under your belt. With the intelligent BPM counter, Behringer take a lot of the guesswork out. Features like SYNC LOCK and BEAT ASSIST help you seamlessly align two tracks without having to rely solely on your ears.
Surround Function Behringer also gives you the awesome XPQ 3D surround function. It widens the stereo image and adds life and transparency to your sound--it's a great way to put a unique finishing touch to your sound and make it feel bigger and wider.
Low-Noise Preamps You work either with CDs or vinyl--sometimes both--and they all induce their own noise into the mix. The last thing you want is to pile even more mixer-originated noise on top of that. That's why all of Behringer's DJ mixers incorporate the improved ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, minimal noise and ultra-transparent sound.

I recently opened a Professional Music Recording Studio and purchased one of these mixer boards for one of the Main mixers. My Lead Engineer and I were so pleased with the performance and reflexibility of the SX4882 that I purchased another one and also a smaller version of it. Now all of my Studio is Behringer equipped with amps, effects, and All. I wouldn't even think of paying all that extra money for a Mackie when the SX4882 does everything the Mackie does and more, and even Better. Boss BR-900CD Digital Recording Studio Review

Boss BR-900CD Digital Recording Studio
Average Reviews:

I purchased this unit to do some recording (mainly voice, piano, and ensemble). While it took many more $$ to get the cables and microphones, this is now the foundation of a solid solution.
It is easy to use (although not painless) and the manual is not the greatest. I'm sure there are many more features that I just don't use. Several features seem targeted at more "rock" than the classical I do.
It hooks to the computer without to much trouble. It also does a reasonable job cutting tracks to CD on its own (but it is slow since most of the mixing and burning is in real (i.e. x1 time).
I have one outing where I recorded an entire concert, but I have yet to try and mix this down to individual tracks (and wonder if I will need some better software than Nero).
All together, this is a solid unit for a reasonable price.

This is a nice inexpensive mixer. I use for mixing wireless microphones and sound effects for my local community theater. It works fine. A mute button per input would have been nice, as would sliders rather than knobs for volume controls. For the price, it is a good value.

Despite its ultra-compact size, this four-channel line mixer from Behringer is big on features. It yields the highest sonic quality at all output levels, boasting ultra low-noise 4580 operational amplifiers for outstanding audio performance--the same op amps found in its much bigger brethren.

I bought this board to do music and voice tracks for a documentary on the Anasazi. I came up with the initial themes on my old Steinway, and ended up using Finale's PrintMusic to input and arrange them for flute, piano, bass and drums.
I used an EV RE20 microphone with the board to record voice tracks and send them to a computer running energyXT 2.5 Compact, the DAW software that comes with the board. I added mild reverb to the voice with the board, and used it to monitor punch-in edits and the overall mix. It worked seamlessly with energyXT, making the recording process much easier than it used to be when I was working with 16 tracks on 1 inch tape.
The final documentary used stock bird and environmental sounds and 15 years of photographs from Anasazi ruins to show what happened at Chaco Canyon, Aztec Ruins, Salmon, and other sites across the Southwest. While I didn't end up using the board to live-record keyboard parts and synthesized drum tracks, it and the included DAW software made "Tracking the Anasazi - How Great Houses and Stripped Resources Led To Abandonment" very successful with audiences.
Within the two-channel stereo transmission limitation of the barefoot board, I highly recommend it. It and hardware like it have radically changed the face of recording from my last studio time in 1986. It made this project very easy.

On Stage MIX400 Mixer Stand Review

On Stage MIX400 Mixer Stand
Average Reviews:

I'll second the other reviewer, wishing that there was some side access. It was also a bit too big to hold my 13" macbook. Not so good for laptop use, then.
But it is a solid stand to hold my AKAI APC40 Midi Controller. Fitting it to the mixer is easy, and it holds the device solidly. Being able to position my mixing and control surface to ergonomically complement the rest of my studio equipment (no longer fighting with the computer keyboard/mouse for desk space) is the reason to get this stand.

Hercules DJ Console MK2 Review

Hercules DJ Console MK2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just took it out of the box. 30 minutes to setup with not a many problems, took like 7 USB recognitions. I never used the first one but this one is quite awesome. I am not a pro, just guy with a lotta mp3s and a dream.
Long story short, you can scratch your mp3s and this makes the system for me. It might not be pro quality but then again you are spending 250 bucks and you aren't buying all that vinyl. Almost on the financial perspective along I would pretty much give it the 5 stars.
Okay, I have been futzing with it for like 1 month now. It freakin rocks. I just did my NYE party with it and everyone was entertained. Just showing this system to certain people gets a jaw dropping effect, "You can do what?!!?" is the common reaction.
You can loop sounds, set up to 5 cue points per track, and it does a pretty good job guesstimating the BPMs for you. The guesstimation is pretty good because it gives you more felxibility. Instead of just always remembering the same sons that match you see all the songs plus or minus. This is really helpful in fleshing out "mental database". (I have like 5k songs so it is easy to get lost.)
The one gripe so far is the BPM estimator engine has a tendency to hang on certain songs. This in turn jams up the whole process and forces you to shut the computer down without saving the info. IE, you are at song 495 of 500 when it hiccups. You lose all previous estimation of the 495. This is a software problem that should not dissuade you from the buying the product.
Final thoughts: This thing is wicked awesome.
Sean
PS I am running XP with P4 1.1G with 384 RAM using USB1. Virtual DJ, the included software, runs well on it. I wouldn't go any lower, performance would definitely be impacted. More RAM might solve the problem.
PPS Upgraded to a p4 1.4G with 1.2G using USB2. More RAM solved the problem, the program doesn't bog at all anymore. I think the RAM is more important than the USB2. Currently have all songs on an external HD, USB2, and it runs well.

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
hmmm... first you will get more than you will pay for this product imagine the clarity sound of a desent studio sound systems, that is what you will hear on the speaker output... well i connected it with my yamaha pa speaker that is programed to 250watts rms to 500watts peak, and im really amazed and pleased to the sound output on it, althogh i dont think it can really push it to 350 watts at the max. and theres a wattage settings that you can read or see on the manual about 4ohms 8ohms to 16ohm thats why it really cant do the 350watts per channel... i just know by hearing it cause i recognized sounds and loud sound ...i also have a LIVE power mixer for my karaoke system that has 225watts per channel and that, i will say its louder but also every amp has its ups and downs and for the behringer pmp2000 this power mixer is better, imagine the clarity of a bose "acoustimas serries"... imagine that, that is what you can hear on a PA speaker... that is how good the sound that this power amp produced... about the down side its not that loud that i expect from a 350watts amp and the low's are not that deep or excelent, but thats maybe the speaker that i am using but still it has a good base but not to compare to a good powered subwoffer or car subwoffers... i will say its just right... but on my own satisfaction i wanted a better bass effect so i think im adding another sub speaker or just mix it with a powered subwoffer...
about the channels i have only tried 3 inputs like the guitar, mic, and cd or dvd sound out. and also media player like zune and cellphone that has a preamp or headphones out...and that it will really hugs your sound loving fellings...
about the mixing like i said on those three , there is no problem at all it dont distort the sound while you were playing it at the same time... what a very nice power mixer because on what it can do i would say you can pay 500 dollars and you will still win on that product of behringer, not to talk about the 99 different echos effects , flanger, chorus, and a lot more but they sounds close... once you tried the first effect or effect 1 and at your 25-30th effect you'll be lost and wont be remembering the difference the sound effect that you used earlier... anyway if you want a close look of what im taking about... check out my video on youtube about pmp2000. WARNING im not a very good camera man but i think ive shown what everybodies want's to hear and see's about this product... just type okeylang47 on the search tab and search for behringer pmp2000 den click... thank you for reading this review to the end ... happy shopping...

If you need superior stereo sound for small club gigs, churches or speeches, but have to keep the outboard gear to a minimum, the 10-channel PMP2000 can really deliver. This 800-Watt mixer has built-in mic preamps and an FX processor, as well as enough power to drive both mains and monitors, thanks to dual 350-Watt onboard power amps.

Massive Mono or Stunning Stereo The PMP2000 gives you the choice of 2 x 350-Watt stereo, 2 x 350-Watt dual mono or 800-Watt bridged mono output. Whether the center of attention happens to be a folk trio, a speech, or a synth-rock band with mind-boggling stereo patches, the PMP2000 can accommodate. This sonic versatility also makes it an excellent choice for churches, where vocals and stereo recordings often share face time.
Classic Control, State-of-the-Art Sound Leave the mic preamps at home, because the quality of sound that was once only available in the studio is ready to go wherever you do. Nine built-in, boutique-caliber mic preamps with switchable +48 V phantom power make it possible to use either dynamic or condenser mics with the PMP2000.
Built-in Digital Effects Processor It's also equipped with a 24-bit FX processor, giving you 100 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus and reverb. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. In case you're pulling double duty as sound engineer and performer, the FX processor has a footswitch jack for remote on/off.
Changing the Channels The PMP2000 gives you loads of flexibility in accommodating whatever the center of attention happens to be. Channels 1-6 are for mics, bass guitars or other mono instruments. Stereo channels 7-12 are ideal for keyboards. Use the 2TR IN RCA inputs to feed in external stereo signals from CD players or tape decks.
The Ins and Outs REC OUT RCA outputs send line-level signals from the mixer to a recording device, so you can finally get to work on that triple-live album you've always dreamed of. The left and right Output 1/4-inch connectors are there just in case you need to connect more amps. Connect your monitor power amps or active monitor speakers to the MONITOR output.

Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer Review

Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been doing studio work for several years now and
I was scared to buy this mixer, because of the name Behringer.
I checked it out at Sam Ash and guitar center for several weeks,
and I was still hesitant.
On microphone input it has 3 band EQs, compressors/limiter Noise gate,
Talk on (Music ducking) reverb, Pitch, Echo and a list that runs a mile long.
The line input has beat counter that syncs to the build in effects echo, reverb, Pitch, This is great for reggae and club music.
Some of the other features are the 32 Second Sampler, Crossover, sub- output, and enhancer, S/PDIF, MIDI in and out and it comes with rack ears. This mixer should cost thousands of dollars for what it can do.
I'm currently trying to set up the Midi control commands for Serato and apple Logic pro.
I used to be scared of Behringer, but after seeing this mixer, I'm checking out all their products with a different view.

The DDM4000 is a state-of-the-art 32-bit digital DJ mixer, jam-packed with creative tools, yet its intuitive layout will let you feel at home in an instant. Editing, storing and recalling your settings is simply a breeze! Hook up your turntables and CD/MP3 players to its 4 stereo channels, each with fully programmable EQ and Kill switches. Put ultimate versatility at your fingertips with fully programmable beat-sync'able multi-FX modules, a pair of high-precision BPM counters and a digital crossfader with custom curve adjustment. And the super-cool BPM-sync'd sampler with real-time pitch control, loop and reverse functions will make your crowd go wild.

Choose Your Channel The DDM4000 struts 5 independent channels. Channels 1-4 are crossfader-assignable stereo channels, suitable for both vinyl and CD decks, and have appropriate phono/line level toggle switches at the input. All channels feature 3-band digital EQs with up to 12 dB of boost and infinite cut option, or "kill." Any channel can be monitored directly via headphones thanks to the PFL switch above the fader.
A dedicated Mic channel is provided in mono, with 2 XLR mic inputs. The vocal channel features a special "talk" feature that attenuates the volume of the other 4 channels, ensuring you will be heard over the music. The Mic channel also has its own FX section that can be applied with a single button.
Cross My Heart The core functionality of any DJ mixer lays in its crossfader. The DDM4000's crossfader can be assigned to any of channels 1-4, and sports a 3-band EQ kill button on either side. The curve sensitivity of the crossfader is adjustable, and in the unlikely event that you wear it out, the crossfader itself is replaceable.
Step Up Your Sampling The DDM4000's BPM-synced sampler is a sought-after addition. The sampler allows you to record a segment of incoming audio and loop it continuously without dropping the beat. Once your track is looping from the sampler, you can swap discs and queue up new tracks and mix them back in. The transition is seamless!
Effects The DDM4000 features a stunning dual FX section that includes our patented BPM counting technology. This allows the mixer to read/display the BPM of 2 different inputs and to apply BPM-synchronized effects, such as an echo synced to the beat of the music. Effects such as bitcrusher, reverb, delay, pitch shift, and more are available, and can be assigned independently to multiple channels.
The DDM4000 is ideal for a club owner who has multiple working DJs performing on a recurring basis. User preferences like fader curve, FX settings, EQ, kill frequencies, etc., can all be set to various user accounts and recalled instantly. This feature can eliminate setup time between DJs altogether!
Swimming Upstream When you combine the DDM4000's digital operation with MIDI functionality, the door to creative applications opens REALLY wide. For example, the mixer can be used as a MIDI controller for your favorite DJ software--or whatever else you like! Channel faders, EQ knobs, and button presses can all be configured to send customized MIDI data. The possibilities here are quite endless.

Behringer XENYX 1002FX Stereo Mixer (10 Inputs) Review

Behringer XENYX 1002FX Stereo Mixer (10 Inputs)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

This is a basic mixer. It does what you want for the price. The built in FX are quite good. The unit does not get too hot.
I use mine for a Karaoke setup for the entertainment room. I basically have two MIC's in the XLR inputs and my PC in the "tape in" RCA connections. I then push the out to my AMP via RCA and walla...instant Karaoke.
PROS:
Unit is SMALL and lightweight! It fits nicely on an entertainment shelf or a small desk where space could be an issue
FX processor is decent! The reverb sounds great.
It is not overly complex. It does exactly what you need. It is quite intuitive to operate.
CONS:
No power switch to turn off.
It has a bright blue light from the FX display and since you cannot turn it off, it's always on. That might be harsh for those that need darkness. You could just unplug it but that wasn't ideal for me so I just leave it on.
If you want simple mixing with a simple budget AND you need FX, this is your unit!
