DiMarzio Evolution Bridge Humbucker Pickup (Black) Review

DiMarzio Evolution Bridge Humbucker Pickup (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
You can't go wrong with the DiMarzio Evolution bridge (model DP159). I have been using the Evolution bridge for years, and many friends of mine have had me install Evolution bridges in their guitars, as well, after hearing its killer tone. This pickup has more intensity and edge than any other pickup I've ever heard; it's a lead guitarist's dream pickup. There are pickups out there with more power (DiMarzio X2N, EMG 81), but none have the tightness and control that this baby has. In addition to the gutsy penetration of the mids, the highs have strong presence, and the lows are tight and mean. This pickup can easily tear through any mix. If you're a lead guitarist, equip this pickup for astounding tone with lots of authority. If you play rhythm using your bridge pickup, it's also great for super tight, shredding rhythms. Check out [...] for a long list of guitar champions who have made this their main pickup and sound clips showing the amazing things they do with it.

The Evolution humbucker is the result of years of research to come up with the right sound for a very demanding player -- Steve Vai. This pickup is designed for maximum impact and power. The sound is tight, aggressive and loud. The design incorporates our patented dual-resonance coil configuration that senses more harmonic overtones than ordinary humbuckers. Recommended For: Bridge position in solidbody guitars Tech Talk: The Evolution bridge pickup works best for soloing where the sound must cut through. Low notes are very tight, and the highs have a lot of presence, enabling the pickup to be heard in almost any situation. Obviously, the Evolution was designed for Steve's Ibanez Jems, but it can add a lot of punch and definition to Les Pauls and similar set-neck guitars - even the lowest bass notes really jump out of the amp, and feedback occurs easily with a wide range of harmonic overtones. The tones out of this unit are awesome... But the Wah pedal broke on mine after three jam sessions
not much quality there. I went on the Line 6 website and it would appear this is a known issue by line 6.
I returned mine and went back to my old Digitech set up for now.

Line 6 POD Mount Review

Line 6 POD Mount
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm very pleased with this. As advertised, it fits perfectly under the handle on my amp and puts the Pod within reach. It was also easy to mount this to my studio countertop for better access when recording. My only disappointment is with the rubber plugs that hold the Pod to the mount. Mine didn't stay put as well as I would have liked, so now I have only 3 of the 4. The 4th went missing when I was moving it. 3 is still enough to hold everything in place, but I'd be happier if all four would have stayed in place better to begin with. Not enough reason not to purchase this mount, though. It's worth every penny.

This is a speaker cabinet that is built to last. It has amazing sound and comes equipped with good quality caster wheels. I drive the speaker cab with a Genz-Benz El Diablo 100 head and a Dr. Z Trianwreck attenuator to keep the beast under control. I really don't know of a way to beat it. I highly recommend RANDALL, USA Made and Amazon had this sent directly from the factory in Illinois.

Randall RS412KH100 Kirk Hammett Series 4x12 Cabinet
Average Reviews:

The cabinet is phenomenal, I'm using a Line 6 Vetta head and Monster cables, which make my rig pretty good. I've been playing for a few years now and only used the combo amps. Being the first cabinet I bought, I wanted something to use for quite some time and this is a great built. I don't understand why some people complain of other cabs being too whimsy, why not just buy this one and forget about it. Yet the sound produced is what actually got me to purchase the cab. The celestions used are top of the line, crisp sound when I play some blues or jazz sound, but even better when I go for some Amon Amarth song or Some crazy Behemoth. All in all the best cab I could wish for, do yourself a favor and get something that is quality, and worth investing on.

It took me a lot of experimenting to get the sounds I wanted, which is similar to Fear Factory or Brujeria. After reading through several forums I was able to dial in a good chunky tone. The klean channel doesn't get much use because turning down the volume of the guitar on the high gain channel gives me the clean sounds I want.

Behringer UM300 Heavy Metal Distortion Pedal Review

Behringer UM300 Heavy Metal Distortion Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This thing is great for me, just playing for fun and using it to get an awesome distortion sound. For the price it can't get any better, I haven't even started to explore the possibilities with the controls, but when I moved the mid knob (not the mid freq) up too high it just started whining really loudly, and when one of the cables isn't fitted into the in/output correctly it'll do the same thing (just a little bit of pressure would do it). I haven't gotten my new cables yet and being able to play with it without being plugged into an amp was a lifesaver, I just put in an adapter and some computer speakers and I was good to go. Once I started playing with it I was having to much fun and I started figuring out how to play the Star Spangled Banner, hours of endless enjoyment just playing with a sound effect XD
For somebody who doesn't play gigs, this is a perfect starter pedal, and for the price it can't be beat. It only looses the 1 star because of the occasional high-pitched screech/wail/whine that it does if the settings aren't right or the cables aren't aligned in the plugs correctly.
EDIT: I got the power cord for it today and it works great, but I wanted to add that 9V batteries are very easy to change/remove once you figure it out, just push one of the black buttons in where the pedal pivots, a long thin screwdriver or pen works great. I had some more fun with it today, it really is hours of enjoyment in one little plastic pedal!

Marshall MS4 Mini Micro Full Stack Battery Amplifier Review

Marshall MS4 Mini Micro Full Stack Battery Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although adorned with the Marshall logo, this little amp does not live up to the name it carries. While the clean channel sounds good at mid to low levels, the distortion, is just that; distorted, as your guitar will lose its identity when played a high levels. Although I only purchased this amp for $30, it does outplay most mini amps that I have used, but does not live up to the Marshall trademark. My advice is to save your $50 and by a good solid state combo amp such as crate or Randall (long live Dime).

Digitech DDM Death Metal Analog Distortion Pedal Review

Digitech DDM Death Metal Analog Distortion Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok I have been playing guitar for about 5 years. Electric Guitar for almost 2. I kinda got bored of not having a loud heavy distortion. Using any amp you can get heavy distortion by turning up the preamp high and the postamp down, but then the sound is barely audible. So when I got this I immeadiatly fell in love with it. The sound at first gave me too much feed back. So what you have to do is you have put your amp on clean. If you want to use your amp distortion for the entire song and then this pedal for the solo then you have to be playing from the moment you turn the distortion on til the moment you turn it off or else it screechs. The sugested settings (death scoop, smooth, knifes edge, and rectified) are good for getting used to the pedal, but after awhile you need to find your own settings. I love this pedal. I compared it to such pedals as the Metal Zone and The Boss Death Metal (digitech bought out Boss so they are the same, just the digitech has more crunch) and the Digitech Grunge.
My set up is a Washburn Dime 332 with light gauge strings and the factory pick-ups. My amp is a Peavey Rage 158. It's a 10 watt, but with this pedal it sounds like a 30. It's amazing. All those reviews you read that said you can't get softer sounds are wrong. You just need to use the volume setting on your guitar. If you turn it down low, you can get a blues tone out of it.
Now this thing is built like a rock, I have a good size dent in my floor now from when I dropped it, but the thing still sings. It is a mini tank. Even though you get good battery life I would suggest you still get the AC adaptor.
This pedal is perfect for any metal head! Don't waste you time on the other pedals. This one is the best you can get, and it's cheap too!
Review:
-Makes small amps sound huge, and huge amps sound... well just sound bigger.
-Can get soft sounds out of it
-Less expensive yet still as good
-Built like a tank!
-Gives you sounds of all good Metal Bands (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Metallica... etc.)
-Excellent beginner/intermediate/advanced pedal.

Marshall MG30FX Guitar Combo Amplifier - 10 Inch, 30 Watts Review

Marshall MG30FX Guitar Combo Amplifier - 10 Inch, 30 Watts
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have always been a dedicated tube amp user, although I am stunned by the new MG series by Marshall.
What is so amazing,is the price!!!! It's clean tone,I believe, is just as good as an all valve, whilst the overdrive is pure metal bliss. The delay is so efficient that one really doesn't require an additional pedal.
If anyone has been an all valve devotee, should at least check this range out, i think you will be pleasantly surprised

Click Here to see more reviews about: Marshall MG30FX Guitar Combo Amplifier - 10 Inch, 30 Watts

Marshall's MG30FX features their exclusive, groundbreaking FDD circuitry plus 30 Watts of power for killer tones. The MG30FX includes a 10-inch speaker, four switchable channels, and a 3-band EQ that lets you shape your tone. Four digital effects are included, along with cabinet emulation for the line or headphone out. A fine marriage of digital convenience with modern Marshall tone.

Analog Tube Emulation Marshall's innovative FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) circuitry gives the MG4 Series the unbelievable depth of sound and unique feel of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by emulating the way an all-tube power amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving. The result? An amp that gives you the best of both worlds, not only producing the tone you're looking for, but offering an intuitive and totally programmable way of customizing, storing and accessing your favourite Marshall tones and features.
Preset and Manual Modes The MG30FX features two modes: Preset and Manual. Preset mode stores the position of all the controls except the master volume, allowing you to store the settings for each channel for instant recall.
Selecting a channel automatically recalls the settings stored within the channel. The physical position of the front panel controls automatically update.
In Manual mode, the amp behaves like any other amp--adjust the controls to your liking on the fly; channel-switching won't recall stored positions (although you can of course save one if you like it).
Four Channels On the MG30FX guitar amp combo, the available channels are Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2--four different foundations upon which to build your sound.
Switching seamlessly between channels is easy with the push button controls, or you can add an optional footswitch.
Reverb and Digital effects The MG30FX allows two simultaneous effects--Reverb and one of these four digital effects: Chorus, Phaser, Flanger or Delay.
All four effects are controlled by a single knob. Turning clockwise increases the speed on the modulation effects and the level of the delay effect.
The delay can be manually set using the front panel Tap button, which allows you to match the delay time to the time between two presses.
Headphone/Line Output The combination line out/headphone out features speaker cabinet emulation, giving you full Marshall sound when recording or practicing through headphones (when a jack is inserted into the socket the unit's speaker is muted).
Line Input The 3.5mm MP3 / Line In socket allows the connection of an external audio source, such as an MP3 or CD player. Plug it in and play along.
Stompware Footswitch (Optional) Upgrade your rig with the Stompware footswitch, which provides seamless transitioning between channels, foot control of the tap tempo delay, plus a built-in tuner with LCD display.

Dean V Dave Mustaine Guitar, Bolt-on Classic Black Review

Dean V Dave Mustaine Guitar, Bolt-on Classic Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used to play guitar years ago. I had never gotten truly proficient, but I knew a number of songs and wasn't bad at playing them. The problem was, I never really felt like I could play the stuff I listened to - Metallica, Megadeth, etc. Now, after about 8 or 9 years of not having a guitar (pawned off all of the guitars I had over the years, in needing to pay bills - never again!), I decided to pick up a guitar - one that would inspire me to learn some of my favorite songs ("The Thing That Should Not Be" and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", for example.)
While I didn't buy this guitar from Amazon (I want to be able to hold and play an instrument before buying it), I'm quite happy that I did buy it. It may be the "low end" of the Dave Mustaine signature series but, as far as I can tell, there's nothing lacking other than a few frills like upgraded inlays and custom paint jobs.
I've had my guitar for about a week now and I can't put it down. I've yet to find anything wrong with it or anything to complain about, save for the positioning of the strap buttons - one is right behind the neck, where it bolts on to the body, and the other is on the underside of the "top" leg of the V. A little difficult to get used to if you're used to strat-styles, but still pretty comfortable. I don't know if I'll ever be able to truly shred out some of the solos in some of the songs I want to learn, but I do know that I'll enjoy trying while playing this guitar. :D

The Dean Dave Mustaine VMNTX is an affordable Mustaine signature model, perfect for beginners who want an axe that'll last. It features a pair of blazing Dean humbuckers, Grover Mini tuners, an Ebony fingerboard, and a Tone pros bridge.

Dean and Dave MustaineDean Guitars is proud to intruduce the Dave Mustaine Signature VMNT series. Well-known in the metal world, Mustaine has been the driving force behind Megadeth for 25 years. The VMNT series offers Dave's special D shaped neck profile with a full two-octave, 24-fret neck, set up at the factory for fast, low action and easy access to upper frets. The guitars feature string-through-body design for serious sustain and playability, along with a variety of solid hardware appointments.

Mahogany BodyDean uses a mahogany body for this instrument.Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.

Bolt-On ConstructionBolt-on neck construction provides an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it.

The VMNTX's maple neck features an ultra-playable 24-fret ebony fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.

Dean Humbucker PickupsTo capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers, which provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination. Each pickup gets a volume pot, and they share the tone control.

Grover TunersIf you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard.

Small and lightweight, the Mini Grover tuners fit guitar headstocks that won't take full-size machines. The mini buttons provide more space for players' fingers (even larger fingers) to tune strings. Gear ratio is 14:1. Sealed-in lubrication keeps Mini-Rotomatics perfect for a lifetime!

Tone Pros BridgeThe Tone Pros bridge with string-thru-body design uses high-quality components to deliver serious sustain and intonation, for great sound and extremely reliable tuning.
