DW Drum Workshop 5000 Series Delta III Accelerator Double Bass Drum Pedal with Case Review

I was originally looking to purchase the new pearl demon pedal but as everybody on the planet knows we are in a recession and money is tight. 650 for the demon is a bit extravagant and fiscally unwise for me right now unless your Dennis Chambers and your recording with Santanna. The pedal is very smooth and built like a tank. I got this for live use at church services that at times lasts for hours and hours. right out of the case This pedal has executed flawlessly with little to no major adjustments. For the price and the quality DW has a made a wonderful durable pedal that will be with me for a long time. I love it! and I am very pleased with my purchase.

M-Audio EX-P Expression Pedal Review

M-Audio EX-P Expression Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this pedal along with an Axiom 61 keyboard. The Axiom had to go back to M-Audio within a couple of weeks because certain keys were putting out full velocity at all times.
The pedal lasted a little longer, but eventually failed - during a gig. I opened it to see if a repair was possible. The pedal is generally well designed for a product at this price point, with one major weakness: The linkage between the treadle and potentiometer is made of flimsy plastic that is destined to fail under even the most optimistic conditions.
This is planned obsolescence of the worst sort. Because my pedal was (just) out of warranty, and M-Audio doesn't stock parts for it, I was told that "it would be most cost-effective for you to just buy another pedal". Ha....fat chance, lesson learned. Bought a Boss FV500L, never looked back. The Boss will probably outlive me.

Source Audio Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion Effects Pedal Review

Source Audio Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion Effects Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm giving this 5-stars YET I ended up returning it. In the final analysis, an amazing pedal but it just wasn't a fit for me and my style. That said, many players will find this a welcome addition to their pedalboard for home, gigs and the studio.
Source has given us bass players a truly novel pedal. Well thought out and executed. Quite honestly, it is unlike every other distortion pedal for bass. Really. It has the ability to produce an incredibly wide range of sounds and tones like no other single pedal. Here is my bottom-line...
- Most importantly, know upfront that if you are looking for "traditional" OD, boost and/or fuzz capabilities this pedal doesn't go there. It doesn't replace those pedals.
- It's real strength - and what it excels at - is in producing a very wide-array of synth-like tones. I've NEVER heard anything like it. Truly amazing range. You won't believe what you will hear. Sounds you've never imagined in your wildest dreams. And I might add...Very, VERY funky! Could potentially replace envelope filters and the like that you may be using.
- The ability to seamlessly morph from one sound setting to another (pro model only via an expression pedal) is incredible.
- Pick playing just doesn't do the pedal justice. This is a big one...Sounds much, much better if you are primarily a finger-style or slap player rather than a pick player like me. The pedal really shines and is at its best when you play finger/slap style. Pick playing seems to mute and alter the intended sound dynamics - for me, in a negative way. Not sure why this occurs.
- I've never seen a pedal with so many ways to adjust and fine-tune every setting - especially on the pro model. The settings are very sensitive and you can really tailor every setting to suit you, your bass, your amp and your style - and then save it to one of 6 locations.
- Made just for bass. Their proprietary technology really works as promised. It does an amazing job of handling and not losing any bass tone. You can readily hear each string (individually and in chords) even when highly distorted. Far from the usual undifferentiated, muddy mess of sound that most distortion pedal produce.
All in all, Source offers the bass player a pedal like no other. In a world of me-too products they have broken the mold and the rules. But, you need to determine if the sounds it produces are a fit with your style and musical tastes. Only you can do that. I suggest you go to their site - sourceaudio - and check out their sound sample videos and audios, which are very well-done incidentally.
As always.....YMMV.........

The Soundblox Multiwave Bass Distortion Pro inherits the power and clarity of the original Soundblox Multiwave Distortion and adapts it to the unique frequency range of the bass guitar. Bassists can effectively combine complex chords and intervals with distorted tones - multi band processing eliminates the mush and allows each note to ring clear and true. The pedal also features single band processing for more traditional distortion sounds. It's the perfect pedal for both the studio and stage.

Line 6 JM4 Looper Review

Line 6 JM4 Looper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The JM4 Looper is way more than just a looping pedal. It's really a "band in a box" type of product. There are 200+ different custom guitar tones and over 100 backing tracks of various styles: rock, metal, blues, country, funk, pop, you name it. As with usual Line 6 gear, it's got built-in amp modeling for typical Fender / VOX and Boutique amp tones. As well as built-in reverb, flanger, echo, phaser, chorus etc. Its darned easy to just start jamming to the backing tracks. You can change the guitar tone, the amps etc. Even better, you can change the tempo and key. (however, if you change more than 2 half-steps some tracks distort weirdly.)
If you use the Line 6 JM4 Looper, you will no doubt get better in your playing. But if you're looking for "just" a looper, consider something else as you might get frustrated with all the features.

Hosa GPP146 Pedal Effect Coupler Review

Hosa GPP146 Pedal Effect Coupler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted to eliminate as much cable from my pedal chain as possible, between many of these and a set of George L's customs, I am pretty happy...
I'd rather they had gold connectors, and were perhaps more rock-solid, almost went with four stars because of that, but that's just me being a priss, so I went with five... These things are great for internconnecting MXR / Boss / Arion etc format pedals, they deserve five stars for helping me to have less signal path to worry about.

Hosa CFS606 6 Inch Right Angle FX Pedal Cable, 6 Pack Review

Hosa CFS606 6 Inch Right Angle FX Pedal Cable, 6 Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These used to be the standard, but of the 3 packs I've bought this year only a handful still work. They come apart, leaving the tips inside my pedals' jacks. This requires disassembly of the pedal, sometimes replacement of the jack, to fix. I am not rough with my gear and my pedals sit in one spot. On some of them the tips will easily pull off by hand. I say go with the nicer Hosas with the all metal jacks if you know they'll fit your pedals, otherwise find another brand... these were once good and cheap, now they're just cheap.

An affordable and convenient to connect side-input/output effect pedals. This 6-inch cable has right angle plugs so you have place your pedals very close together without unnecessary lengths of cable laying on the floor. This works to clean up your rig and eliminate unwanted noise.Hosa's injection-molded cable terminations, for which they have become famous, have a built-in strain relief and carry their no-questions-asked Limited Lifetime Warranty.. Recording studios, stage racks, keyboards, effects devices--all can be connected with molded assemblies like their CPP-, CPR-, and CRA-series cables and snakes which perform just as well as much more expensive cables with metal-headshell assemblies.Hosa began business in 1984 with the belief that less-expensive doesn't have to mean "cheaper", and that it simply isn't necessary to connect your equipment with "NASA-approved", gold-plated cables thick enough to tow an eighteen-wheeler. So, if you can't afford to spend a week's equipment allowance for a few cables, then look no further than the Hosa brand for professional cables that work as hard as you do.In the regular Hosa line, they pay strict attention to the basics of cable design and construction. They make sure that their cables are well-shielded from external sources of radio-frequency and current-induced noise and that they're of the proper gauge and of high copper purity to ensure low capacitance. In addition, Hosa uses correct soldering techniques to eliminate "cold-solder" joints which could cause intermittent connections or "ground hums". And finally they make sure that the jacket and head-shell/strain-relief combination are rugged enough to withstand the rigors of the intended application. Hosa provides all of these benefits in every cable they make, and they back them up with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
