PYLE-PRO PWMA330 - 300 Watt VHF Wireless Battery Powered PA System W/Echo Review

This unit has great voice projection. It is inexpensive so your microphone is not of good qulaity. It is great that you do not need a transmitter for the mic to work. Overall voice projection is good when it does work. Your range is limited for the wireless mic to pick your voice up. As a portabel PA I would recommmend it but you should go out and get a better microphone.

QSC K12 Powered PA Speaker Review

QSC K12 Powered PA Speaker
Average Reviews:

Honestly, it's difficult for me to being a thought process on the sheer godliness of this speaker.
Well, heres a start. My bluegrass band recently bought two of these bad larrys, and they are unmatched in quality by anything (except this one stage setup that was all analog and hand made by a sound-man at Podunk Bluegrass Festival). These speakers put out 1000 watts each, and thats the truth. This power gives you the most head room to eq all you need to without compromising clarity at high output levels. We run a banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and upright bass through them and its as if there are 16 constant directivity horns absolutely putting an arena in its place.
The 12's have a very very solid amount of bass, we were deciding on whether or not to get these or the 10's and get the KSUB one day. The 12's are more then enough (but maybe one day the icing on the cake will be one of those KSUBS). I would recommend these speakers from the bottom of my heart. Their build quality is rock solid. Their sound quality is ridiculously precise and clear. Their output is higher than 4 or 5 average pa speakers. Yes they are pricy, but if you actually want to get something that you will /not/ need to upgrade, bingo.

Fender Passport 150 Pro 150-Watt Portable Sound System Review

Fender Passport 150 Pro 150-Watt Portable Sound System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For a small PA is is awesome. I use it for electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and for music. It sounds great on everything! Very versatile and the portability is great. I use it mostly for amp and guitar modeling with my Line 6 Pod x3 and Variax, and again is the best. If you play live and outsideI would recommend the more powerful models(300 & 500). For a small indoor show it is great. Good lows and good highs and you can tweak the tone a little and add reverb. It snaps together in two shakes and even has a compartment for cables. It is about the size of a small suitcase and weighs about 30 lbs. The upper models have a subwoofer out which would be pretty handy if playing a larger show. But, again if you need something for a small indoor venue for guitar, singing, or public speaking of some sort this will be more than enough. I give it 5 stars!

This system is an EXCELLENT value for the money. It is very powerful and so easy to move around using the Yamaha carrying cases. Awesome options and very well built system. The sound quality is top notch!

The STAGEPAS 500 was developed after numerous requests from end users who liked the STAGEPAS 300, but wanted just a little more. A little more power, larger woofers, more inputs were all addressed in the STAGEPAS 500.Designed to give quality minded musicians, performers, speakers and other presenters a solution for their smaller performances the STAGEPAS 500 delivers without sacrificing high fidelity and professional appearance. The mixer of the STAGEPAS 500 also contains the two 250 watt digital power amplifiers, and it resides in the back of one of the two passive loudspeakers that complete the system. The other loudspeaker has a convenient accessory compartment for the included speaker cables or other gear. This mixer has 10 total inputs. 4 are mono and can accept either microphone or line level instruments, and there are three stereo inputs to accept line level stereo sources like keyboards or CD players. Digital reverb is included onboard the mixer along with EQ or tone controls. In addition to providing simple operation, the mixer will operate installed in the speaker cabinet, out on a table or on a microphone stand with the optional adapter. Simple quarter turn fasteners allow easy removal and replacement with a coin.. The loudspeakers systems offer an 10" long travel woofer and 1" titanium high frequency driver assuring full fidelity sound. The travel cases are custom fit to the STAGEPAS 500 and make transporting the system a breeze. Weighing around 50 lbs, this system plays well beyond its size with remarkable fidelity.

Yamaha STAGEPAS 300 Portable PA System Review

Yamaha STAGEPAS 300 Portable PA System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I first auditioned the Stagepas300 several months ago, along with a friend, and we judged it relative to other portable PA's in the ~$500 - $1000 list price range. He immediately bought one, I soon did the same. We are both acoustic solo players/singers (since the late 1950's) who occasionally work with one or more other musicians doing mostly folk, old time, early country and bluegrass, and ragtime and country blues repertoire. Think acoustic music in small to perhaps 1,200 sq ft sized venues and you'll have an idea where this PA is a very strong contender and good value to boot. Other applications, especially those employing larger ensembles, electric instruments, or high decibel levels in large spaces deserve beefier gear in order not to disappoint.
The build quality is very good for an inexpensive portable PA (much more so than the rivals I kicked around a bit). I use only microphones but the XLR, ¼", and RCA input jacks all feel good. Onboard phantom power would have been much appreciated and its lack is one of the weaknesses of the Stagepas300. Others have derided the reverb effect, but I use only the lightest amount for enhancing vocal ambience and have no complaints. I've also acquired the pole mounting hardware for the speakers and the adapter for mounting the mixer on a mike stand--they're a bit pricey, but, all-in-all, the whole thing still cost me only around $500 and it looks and sounds great. If your needs increase, this set up is extremely easy to upgrade/expand without becoming at all obsolete.
More than anything else, the Stagepas300 sounds very good. Yamaha makes good mass market audio gear and the 300 has solid, smooth output. The electronics have a 20Hz-20kHz frequency response with reasonable specs; the speakers are rated at 55Hz-20kHz and if you use good quality microphones and cables this is probably what you get in terms of audible response. It's quite good, very little audible distortion at moderate volume levels and little hum or other noise--a very smooth and natural sounding output. There are limited hi and lo EQ abilities on all the input channels, but I'm pretty much into the `straight wire with gain' philosophy anyway. Just to round out the set up FYI. Bob uses two Shure 87a microphones, I use two CAD C-195s and two Astatic CTM 1000A dual capsule cardioids condenser mikes (when playing in a duo) and I can't really tell much difference in the output.
We're both very happy with our Stagepas300's. If your expectations are reasonable and this review resembles you, chances are that you too will be very happy playing and singing through this system.

Do not waste your money on this product! First the amlefire broke on me so they sent me a new one which was completely different than the origianal. After that both the speakers burnt out on me. The micorphone screw cracked the day i oppened it. This product will break easily on you and it's not even good for parties. This is probably the worst thing I ever bought.

Pyle-Pro PWMA930I 600-Watt VHF Wireless Portable PA System/Echo with iPod Dock Review

Pyle-Pro PWMA930I 600-Watt VHF Wireless Portable PA System/Echo with iPod Dock
Average Reviews:

I own a pwma230. It works quite well except it does not seem to be as loud as 200W. So when the pwma930i was available, I recommended it to my church which bought one from mail order. I also bought one for myself through Amazon. Both units made a fairly loud hissing noise even when the volume was turned way down and there was no input. The units also made humming noise when AC was used. Being an engineer myself, I believe the noise is either due to poor design (some kind of cross-talk), or poor workmanship. I sent an email to Pyle Audio, and there was no answer. I would not recommend this product unless the problem is fixed.
Follow-up, May, 2010
I asked Amazon to replace my unit. Without a surprise the replacement unit exhibited the same hissing noise and AC hum. I returned the church unit to Pyle for repair. The hissing noise was reduced somewhat, but was still fairly loud, kind of barely usable. I decided to hold onto my second unit, to give the factory some time to fix a design problem.
I sent my second unit in for repair when my 1-year warranty was almost up. You know what? I received a PWMA-230 back instead. The service department of Pyle Audio must be half asleep. I will continue to report what is going on. Basically, this is a very low quality company, both in its products and in its service.

Bose T1 ToneMatch Audio Engine Review

Bose T1 ToneMatch Audio Engine
Average Reviews:

Make no mistake, this is a state of the art mixer which outputs amazing sound. However, after owning and using this for 10 months as a professional musician, it froze in a blank-blue-screen, and stayed that way. The screen and dials were lit up as if the unit was working, but it was frozen and the screen was totally blank. No amount of 're-booting' helped. I was at a gig at the time, and it was a very bad situation. (understatement) Bose, to their credit, is replacing it with a new one, but I don't think I will trust it to be my sole mixer anymore. Shame.
