All strings had to be changed, and then the tuners were not holding the new strings tight enough, the tuners were just spinning. Almost every guitar I broke is not right in some way (I gave 6 for Christmas) It doesn't hold a tune at all. Real bummer of a purchase.

(More customer reviews)Excellent purchase. The body and neck are of top quality as well as the strings, I still haven't figured out how to use the tremolo arm (I'm a guitar novice) And the volume and tone controls are well placed and work perfectly.
The docs/manuals that come with it are a little insufficient. You need to look elsewhere on information on how to correctly set it up and play, and how to do maintenance. The free guitar combo software included is well made. If you have Windows Vista like me (or 7) you've got to download the appropiate driver from the behringer website.
There is a little noise coming along from the headphones with the guitar sound. I still don't know if it's the headphone's fault or the guitar's.
Finally, it's too bad that it's been discontinued, since it's a great budget guitar with better-than-average quality.

(More customer reviews)My iDea guitar arrived 3 days ago, and out of the box, the guitar's fit and finish was really solid, the unplugged tone was adequate, with a surprisingly amount of volume and bass response, and the playability was just "ok" with action a little high for my taste.
Important as these things are, it's the built in MP3 player/recorder/preamp that I'm really interested in, and like any red blooded man, I dug into this thing without the aid of instructions.
The interface is pretty simple to operate considering the number of functions it controls, though the little joystick controller feels like I could crush it with my thumb. That said, my cellphone feels the same and in 2 years of use, I haven't broken it yet, so who knows? The loop feature is a little imprecise, but it works for snagging a phrase and repeating it ad infitum.
I'm interested in this guitar as a songwriting tool, practice tool, and possibly a performance tool, though my initial impression is that it will be better suited for the first 2, as I've already used up 25% of the memory just farting around with it, so it probably doesn't have capacity to hold several sets of backing tracks.
All in all...I like it. A really useful tool for songwriting and woodshedding.

(More customer reviews)After reading about this gadget from a number of reliable sources, I went ahead and gambled the 40 ducats on it and couldn't be happier. The first time I popped this little doohicky into my Ibanez RG, plugged in the phones, maxed the gain and slowly raised the volume I was nearly slammed into the wall by forcefield of metal madness. I attacked the Phrygian scale then glided into my favorite riffs. Power chords: BANG! Who knew you could get such big amp sound out of this tiny plastic box?
Substitute a plain old minijack cable between the phones jack and anything with speakers and you have an improvised amp with sound as big as the remote speakers allow.
It also has a minijack auxiliary input so you can jam along to your iPod or PC output in virtually total silence. No more annoying neighbors banging on your walls when you get the urge to shred at 2:00 a.m.
It would be nice if there was some reverb on the device, but metal holds up well with big gain so I'm not complaining. The device also has a tendency to swing around while you play -- if you are a highly mobile shredder this might annoy you (but can easily be fixed with a bit of gaffers tape).
If you're on a budget or just want to jam loudly in peace, you could do much worse than this. Throw one in a gig bag with a set of decent phones (and an iPod if you want) and you may as well be carrying a pocket sized amp with you. Note also that this was designed for METAL -- it's all about the gain. If you are looking for something bluesy or some other wimpy sound, consider the other amPlugs.

This is really a great guitar. I can't believe something as good as this is available at such a low price. I've been playing guitar for an awful lot of years and have owned a lot of acoustic guitars, Yamahas, Guilds, Martins among them. Believe it or not, this Silvertone ranks with the best of 'em. It is better than a Martin HD28 I had, which was a terrible disappointment. The action on this Silvertone is true and easy to play. It holds a tune perfectly. It has a great booming, warm tone, kinda reminicent of Gibson flattops, and a wonderful volumn that holds right up to a bandful of Bluegrass instruments including the banjo. If ya want a good workin' axe, get one of these.
The rest of the stuff you get with this package is ok. The bag for the guitar provides some protection, and the tuner works well. All in all, this is a great deal.

Recording King Classic Series I OOO-Style Acoustic Guitar (Mahogany) Review

(More customer reviews)Every now and then something comes along that surprises you and makes you smile. This guitar will do that. I'm a 51 year old guitar player and I've played in dance bands since the mid 70's. I like the saying "One can never have too many guitars". I have about a dozen or so and about half of them are big name 2500+ models. I wanted a 000 size to leave out so I could pick it up anytime inspiration strikes. Finding a decent guitar for not alot of money is tough, then trying to find it online without hearing it is a real task. I searched all over and finally clicked on this one.
It arrived double boxed in great shape. I took it out and tuned it up and it sounded great. Mine came with a hang tag stating it was strung with D'Addario strings which are my favorite. The tuners are nice and smooth, after the strings settled in it is holding tune very well. I was impressed that this model cam with a bone nut and saddle. This is very important for a good tone. Most lesser expensive models come with plastic, Yuck! This guitar also has a slightly wider neck, perfect for larger hands, like mine, finger picking and strumming. Its not so wide that it feels like a 2x4 in your hand though. My nephew played it, he has small hands and he loved it. The volume is suprising, I would not have thought that a smaller guitar would produce this much volume. It has decent bass for a 000 size, mid range and highs sound beautiful. The finish is beautiful, dark Mahogany back and sides and a natural solid spruce top. A solid top is very important for good tone. The neck is nice and smooth. Some of the dark color on the fret board is comming off on my finger tips after a playing session but it washes right off. The setup on mine is great. I'm picky on setup. I like low action and usually have to have a new guitar set up. I don't plan on changing anything on this one. I does not have any dots or markers on the fretboard. It has position markers on the neck. If you like to watch the fretboard to know where you are this may take a little getting used to, but after a little playtime you won't need the fretboard markers anymore. No pickgard, if it matters to you, I think it looks better without one.
In conclusion: Great sounding, small bodied, easy playing, excellent choice for a parlor guitar, starter guitar, travel, campfire singing. In the 100-500 dollar range I would rank this guitar near the top of the list.

A great introduction to a pre-war style acoustic guitar, the Classic Series I has fine craftsmanship and a natural acoustic tone. This guitar features a solid Engelmann spruce top, mahogany or rosewood back and sides, fully scalloped forward-x bracing and a mahogany neck.
