(More customer reviews)I just had my nearly 15 year old, American made, green board Blues Jr. modified by Marc Ferguson of Ferg Amp repair in Nashville, Tn. We used the Fromal Blues Jr. Supreme Mod kit. It completely transformed the amp. The Amp had almost completely died. No after market speaker or tube combination could help the amp. The amp had no power, no punch, clarity or overall tone. The tone stack had no effect on the amp. After installing the alternate resistor values, reverb mod and the orange drop/silver mica caps offered in the mod kit, the amp has been brought back to life. The amp now has great bass response, sweepable mids and clean, crisp highs. The amp was further enhanced by new tubes from Ferg and transformers from Heyboer. I can now use the amp by it's self with out any pedals and I get great vintage tone.
I've been playing guitar for over twenty years, and have been gigging professionally for about half that time and I highly recommend this amp mod for any player that wants to open up their blues jr. Don't perform these mods your self if you don't know what you're doing. Take it to a qualified tech. Don't risk damaging your amp or possibly exposing your self to potentially lethal voltages.
