(More customer reviews)Coming from a 20 watt solid state practice amp, this is definitely a step up.
I expected the tube distortion to sound more pleasing than that of my old solid state, but even the cleans are nicer - they have a sort of chimey quality.
I'm not sure if it's due to the tubes or the Celestion speaker.
I may never use this feature, but there is a speaker out jack to use with an external cab.
I picked up a variant with an 8" speaker to save space, but I believe it's identical to the 10" model otherwise.
I've had it for a few months now, and while it doesn't have the bells and whistles on some of Vox's modeling amps or Fender's tube-based Super Champ, I returned those amps and kept this one based solely on sound quality, which is highly subjective.
Not an amp for metal, but well suited to blues, jazz and classic rock. I don't usually like the amp's breakup above 50% gain. I may add an overdrive pedal to my setup.
The only thing I wish this amp had was a headphone jack.
