This mixer is a great buy for the money. I have used it for over a month and a half. When I received it thru UPS, I read the manual - good writing, clear and concise - very explanatory in identifying all of the twisty-knobs, flippy-switches, and blinky-lights.
It has been turned on for 24/7 mixing input for my low power FM radio station. After hooking it up - with the user's manual close by - I flipped the power switch - As it came alive a dozen-teen colored lights started to blink. You can't dim the lights but, for me, they are at a brightness that does not bother me. The inputs used are Channel 1: computer, Channel 2: satelite feed, Channel 3: CD player, Channel 4: turn table, and Channel 5: MP3 player.
You can lay it down flat or stand it upright. I have mine standing upright. It will not take an unbalanced microphone, only the XLR microphone connection. The microphone enjoys its own bass thru treble controls, as does each of the input/output channels.
My personal conclusion: The equipment is easy to learn and to use; easy on the wallat; fantastic eye-candy for others when they walk into the studio. There is no hum when the gain is cranked to its highest setting. I would recommend this piece of equipment.
