This is a really nice cab. I loaded it with an Eminience Governor and a Cannabis Rex and I'm blown away. I'm pushing the cab with a DIY 2W tube amp and it will sing, sparkle, growl, bark, and chunk with the best of them. PLENTY of low end and the sound is very balanced. Really lets the characteristics of the speakers shine, doesn't add it's own "color" to my tone.
Their customer service is also really good...I bought this cabinet in orange, but didn't like the color as much as I thought I would in person. There were also a few minor tolex fitting imperfections. I emailed Seismic's customer service and they sent out a replacement in a black with wheat grill cloth and it looks GREAT. Nice fit a finish. You'd be hard pressed to build your own cabinet at this price. It really is all birch ply (I was skeptical because of the price). If you played one of these cabs with a famous maker logo and a nice set of speakers loaded in it, I'd bet money 99% of the guitar playing public would just say "nice cabinet". Guitar cabinets basically just hold speakers, they aren't precision calculated like a hi-fi speaker's enclosure.
Marshall 4x12's are the size they are because of how the pieces can be cut out of a sheet of plywood, not because Mr. Marshall found some magic dimensions or tone woods. There IS a difference in pine vs/ birch and other woods, but a birch open back 2x12, for the most part, is a birch open back 2x12. There is no need to spend tons of cash on a famous maker cab with a big marketing budget and famous people endorsing them. Your speakers will have a MUCH bigger effect on your tone that the brand of the cabinet.
If you're like me and looking at Avatar, Lopo and similar cabs, seriously, give these guys a call.
FYI-
I've been playing for 19 years, and have built my own amps, effects, cabinets, and guitars. I play everything from old country/blues to Metallica.
